Drainage Systems

Foul, surface and sustainable drainage that keeps the site dry.

Drainage systems remove wastewater and rainwater safely from buildings and sites. Foul drainage takes wastewater from toilets and sinks; surface water drainage removes rain from roofs and paving; combined systems carry both (older networks). Modern projects increasingly use Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) like soakaways, permeable paving and swales to manage water at source.

When Replacement Is Needed

Installation Steps

  1. CCTV Survey & Design

    • Camera survey to map existing runs and condition
    • Calculate flows and required pipe sizes
    • Design gradients and connection points
  2. Excavate & Lay Pipes

    • Trench to correct depth with proper gradient
    • Lay PVC, clay or concrete pipes on bedding
    • Maintain fall to allow gravity flow
  3. Chambers, Gullies & Traps

    • Install manholes and inspection chambers at junctions
    • Fit gullies to collect surface water
    • Use traps to prevent odours from entering buildings
  4. Outfalls & SuDS

    • Connect to mains sewer or septic system
    • Install soakaways for surface water disposal
    • Add permeable paving or swales where appropriate
