New builds and major renovations need safe, compliant connections to mains water, gas and electricity. Each utility has its own regulations and approved installers — water work must be WRAS-compliant, gas work must be carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers, and electrical work must follow BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations). Damage during excavation is one of the most common causes of utility incidents.

- Pressure test and ensure WRAS compliance
Gas Connection
- Gas Safe registered engineer connects to mains
- Install meter, regulator and internal pipework
- Tightness test and certify before commissioning
Electrical Connection
- DNO installs cut-out and meter
- Install consumer unit and circuits to BS 7671
- Test, inspect and issue Electrical Installation Certificate
